Reinforced concrete strengthening with external pre-stressing

We use external pre-stressing when structures have to be strengthened, because the acting loads do not match those in the initial design specifications. This technique consists of applying high-strength post-tensioned steel cables or bars to the outside of the structure to modify its load bearing characteristics.

  • Pre-stressing on a retaining wall.

  • Water reservoir where external pre-stressing has been applied.
